Bengal Chicken Curry Recipe

Make this chicken curry that is cooked in yogurt and blended with delicious spices. Serve the curry along with jeera rice and salad

    • 750 grams chicken on bone, cut into 2-inch pieces
    • 1/2 cup yogurt
    • 2 tablespoons ginger garlic paste
    • 1 teaspoon turmeric
    • 1 teaspoon cumin powder 
    • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
    • 5 gms mustard oil
    • 1 tablespoons Saffola oil
    • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
    • 2 bay leaf
    • 4 cloves
    • 3-4 green cardamom
    • 2-inch cinnamon
    • 1/4 teaspoon fenugreek
    • 2 large onion, chopped
    • 1 large tomato, chopped
    • salt to taste

How to make Bengal Chicken Curry

    • Take a large mixing bowl and mix yoghurt, ginger garlic paste, cumin powder, turmeric & red chili powder and then add the chicken to the mixture and mix well. Marinate the chicken for 2 hours
    • Heat the Saffola oil and mustard oil in a nonstick pan, add bay leaf, cloves, green cardamom pods, cinnamon stick, methi seeds and sauté for 10 seconds
    • Add onions and sauté till onion to turns golden brown. Add chicken, chopped tomato, mix well. Lower the flame and cover with lid to cook the chicken for 3-4 minutes
    • Add 1-1/2 cup of water, salt and cook the chicken till fully cooked
    • Sprinkle some garam masala powder over it. Serve hot
