Chicken & Oats Manchurian Recipe

When anyone goes out for a Chinese meal, Chicken Manchurian is the go to non-vegetarian starter for all. But for some of you out there, you don’t give in to these cravings because it is fried and unhealthy. Enter the Chicken & Oats Manchurian! It retains all your favourite flavours and textures, while giving it a healthy twist with the addition of Oats!

  • 1 cup minced chicken
  • 1 tsp chopped ginger
  • 1/2 tsp chopped green chillies
  • 2 tbsp grated cabbage
  • 1/2 cup grated carrots
  • 1 Packet Saffola Masala Oats Curry and Pepper
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Saffola oil
  • 2 tsp chopped garlic
  • 1 tsp chopped lemongrass
  • 2 tsp soya sauce
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tbsp chopped coriander

How to make Chicken & Oats Manchurian

  • In a bowl, add the chicken, ginger, green chillies, cabbage, carrots, black pepper powder and a packet of Saffola Masala Oats Curry and Pepper. Mix it well and aside.
  • Grease a baking tray with Saffola Oil.
  • Scoop out a bit of the mixture and roll it into small balls.
  • Place the chicken balls on the baking tray and bake at 180 deg C for 15-20 mins.
  • To prepare the sauce, heat Saffola Oil in a pan. Add garlic and lemon grass to the oil and saute well. Sizzle it till golden brown.
  • Add black pepper powder, soy sauce, tomato puree, salt and saute the mixture well.
  • Add the baked chicken balls to the sauce and mix it well.
  • Garnish with microgreens and green chillies. Serve Hot!
