  • 1/2 cup whole green moong
  • 1/ teaspoon jeera
  • 3-4 curry leaves, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger, finely grated
  • 1 teaspoon green chillies, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 2 tablespoons coriander leaves, finely chopped 
  • 1 teaspoon Saffola Oil
  • Salt to taste

How to make Green Moong Dal Sabzi (Dry)

  • Soak the moong overnight for about 6-7 hours. Cook the moong along with salt and with 1-1/4 cups of water including the water that it was soaked in
  • Cook the moong beans until soft, tender, grainy but not mushy
  • Heat oil in a pan on medium heat, add the jeera and allow them to crackle
  • Stir in the green chillies, curry leaves, ginger and turmeric powder, sauté for a few seconds. Add the cooked mung and stir gently to combine all the ingredients. Add salt as per taste
  • Cover with a light-fitting lid and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes until tender and all the ingredients are well combined
  • Finally squeeze the lime juice, add the coriander leaves and give it a gentle stir
  • Turn off the heat and serve warm along with freshly made Phulkas
