Ingredients

  • 2 cups fenugreek leaves,chopped
  • 1 cup green peas, steamed
  • 3/4 cup peas, boiled
  • 2 tablespoon onion paste
  • 4 tablespoon fresh tomato puree
  • 1 cup skim milk
  • 2 tablespoon almond paste, soaked
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon Saffola Oil
  • 1 teaspoon jeera
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder

How to make Methi Malai Matar

  • Carefully wash fenugreek leaves and chop them coarsely 
  • Heat 1 tablespoon Saffola oil in thick bottomed pan, add jeera, when jeera starts to splutter add boiled onion paste to the pan
  • Grind steam green peas to smooth paste
  • Cook for 2 minutes and add fresh tomato puree. Cook the puree and onion paste together for 7-8 minutes on medium heat. Keep stirring in-between to prevent the paste from burning
  • Add almond paste and cook masala paste for 2 more minutes
  • Add 3/4 steamed green peas too and cook for a minute
  • Stir in fenugreek/methi leaves and add skim milk and cover the pan with a lid
  • Once milk starts to boil lift the lid let it simmer for 3-4 minutes and serve hot
