Ingredients

 

For the Batter:

 

 

  • 1/2 cup soaked split bengal gram (Chana Dal)
  • 1/2 cup soaked split red gram (Lal chana)
  • 2-3 teaspoon split black gram (Urad Dal)
  • 1/2 cup soaked rice
  • 1/4 cup soaked parboiled rice (Rice boiled in husk, Ukda Chaval)
  • 2 -3 dried red chillies
  • 1 teaspoon asafoetida powder (Hing)
  • 1 teaspoon chopped green chillies
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 Packets Saffola Masala Oats Pepper and Spice
  • 1/2 grated carrot
  • 1/2 chopped onion
  • Water as needed

 

 

For the Paste:

 

 

  • 1 teaspoon Saffola oil
  • 1 teaspoon asafoetida powder (Hing)
  • 1 teaspoon split black gram (Urad Dal)
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds (Rai)
  • 3 to 4 roasted onions
  •  1 teaspoon tamarind paste
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 dried red chillies
  • 1 tablespoon water

How to make Pepper & Spice Oats Kuzhi Paniyaram with Nandita

  • In a mixture jar add the soaked split bengal gram (chana dal), soaked split red gram (lal chana), split black gram (urad dal), soaked rice, parboiled rice (ukda chawal), dried red chillies, asafoetida powder (hing), green chillies and salt
  • Grind it to make a thick paste
  • Then add Saffola Masala Oats Pepper and Spice in the paste and grind it again. Pour the batter in a mixing bowl
  • Add grated carrots, chopped onions, water and mix it properly
  •  Heat oil in a pan.  Add asafoetida powder (hing), split black gram (urad dal), mustard seeds (rai) and cook for 1 to 2 minutes and add it to the paste
  • Glaze the paniyaram pan with oil and pour the batter into it
  • Cook it for 4 to 5 minutes
  • In a mixture jar add roasted onions, tamarind paste, salt, dried red chillies and water
  • Grind it to make thick paste
  • Your Pepper and Spice Oats Kuzhi Paniyaram is ready
