Veg Burger patty is usually deep fried with fillings of potato, corn starch and layered with mayo on a white flour bun. In this recipe, we have used pinto beans, Saffola Masala Oats, rajma beans, carrot and garlic in the patty and serving it with whole wheat bun.
1 large onion, minced
1/3 teaspoon garam masala
1 tablespoon tomato puree
2 tablespoon tamari (can use soy sauce instead, but tamari is usually low sodium)
1 tablespoon masi do - mustard sauce (any kind available, Dijon is best)
Soak for a few hours and then cook the pinto and red beans until tender
Heat a skillet and sauté the onion and garlic with a tiny bit of salt for a few minutes until translucent but not brown. Then add tomato purée, garam masala, chili powder and further simmer for 3 minutes
Mash the beans in a large bowl. Add carrot, mustard, garam masala, cooked mixture and oats
Mix well and then shape the mixture into patties
Heat a nonstick or cast-iron skillet and add oil
Cook patties over medium heat for four to five minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
Serve with the cooked mixture spread on whole wheat buns some soy sauce and lettuce leaves
