Shahi Paneer Recipe

Shahi paneer recipe requires some cream, butter, sugar and paneer; instead we have replaced these with honey, low fat curd, almond cream and low-fat paneer. Also to boost nutrition we granish this dish with grilled veggies.

Ingredients

    For Red Gravy

     

    • 1 cup tomatoes, chopped
    • 1/2 cup onions, sliced 
    • 1/4 cup pistas (kaju)
    • 2 whole dry kashmiri red chillies

     

    Other Ingredients

     

    • 1 cup mixed Grilled vegetables – peppers/onion/corn
    • 2 tablespoon Saffola oil
    • 1 teaspoon garlic paste
    • 25 of cinnamon 
    • 2 cloves
    • 2 cardamoms
    • 1 bayleaf 
    • 2 teaspoon fenugreek leaves, dried
    • 1 teaspoon garam masala
    • 3 tablespoon tomato puree
    • salt to taste
    • 2 tablespoon low fat curd, whisked
    • 1/2 teaspoon honey
    • 2 tablespoon almond cream
    • 1 cup low fat paneer strips, cut into 1” cubes

     

    For Garnish

     

    • 1 tablespoon almond cream

How to make Shahi Paneer

    For Red Gravy

     

    • Combine all the ingredients along with 1-1/2 cups of water in a kadhai and boil on a high flame for 10 to 15 minutes or till the tomatoes are soft while stirring occasionally
    • Cool and blend in a mixer to a smooth paste. Keep aside

     

    How to Proceed

     

    • Heat the oil in a kadhai, add the garlic paste and sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds
    • Add the cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and bayleaf and sauté on a medium flame for a few more seconds
    • Add the dried fenugreek leaves, garam masala, tomato purée and red gravy and sauté on a medium flame for another 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring continuously
    • Add the salt, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes, while stirring continuously
    • Add the curd, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 more minute
    • Add the honey, 1/4 cup of water, paneer and almond cream, mix well and cook on a medium flame for another 2 minutes
    • Serve hot garnished with grilled vegetables and almond cream
