Spaghetti Arrabiata with Spinach Recipe

The Spaghetti Arrabiata pasta is a quick pasta dish, with simple flavours of tomato, chilli, basil and garlic. With the addition of spinach, it becomes an even more nutritious affair. It makes for a great weeknight dinner for family, and the kids will love it too.

Ingredients for Spinach Pasta
Ingredient with Household Unit

  • 350 grams of spaghetti (wheat pasta)
  • 1 sprig basil leaves
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 200 grams of spinach, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Saffola Aura- Refined Olive & Flaxseed Oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried red chili flakes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano for serving
  • 2 cups tomato puree
  • Salt to taste


How to make Spaghetti Arrabiata with Spinach

  • First, cook the pasta until al dente along with salt in boiling hot water. Once the pasta is cooked, drain and rinse under cold water. Keep aside.
  • In a wok or a heavy bottomed pan, add the Olive & Flaxseed Oil with heat over medium. Add the onion and garlic and sauté until the onion is cooked through.
  • Once it cooked through, add the tomato puree, the red chili and oregano.
  • Bring the sauce to a brisk allow the sauce to slightly thicken. Adjust the consistency of the sauce by adding more water if it become way to thick.
  • Once done, add the cooked spaghetti, the chopped spinach and basil leaves. Toss for 3 to 4 minutes until the spaghetti is well coated with the sauce and the spinach is cooked through. Check the taste and spice and adjust accordingly.
  • Once done, turn off the heat and serve the pasta along with garlic bread for a quick weeknight dinner.
