Ingredients

  • 1 bowl chopped yams (Suran)
  • 1 sliced onion
  • 1 chopped green chilli
  • 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
  • 1 tablespoon chopped ginger
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder (Haldi)
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 stick of cinnamon (Dalchini)
  • 4-5 black peppercorns (2 tbsp pepper)
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 cup hung curd
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 chopped green chilli
  • 1 cup gram flour
  • 3 tablespoon Saffola oil

How to make Suran Shikhampuri

  • In a pan add yams, onions, green chillies, garlic, ginger, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cinnamon, pepper, salt, 2 cups of water and boil
  • Cover the pan and cook till the yam gets perfectly cooked
  • Take a cup of hung curd. Add salt, black pepper, red chilli powder, green chilli and mix well
  • Add the boiled yams in a mixer jar and churn well
  • Make tikkis of the yam mixture and place some spiced hung curd in the center and seal the tikkis well using gram flour
  • Heat oil in pan and shallow fry the tikkis till they don’t get crisp
